A new generation of winemaking families are establishing quality benchmarks for the production of Hunter Valley wine. Established in 1997, the Margan brand is part of this new wave. Hunter born and proud of their regional identity, the wines of Andrew Margan reflect the unique terroir of the Hunter and the winemaking background of their maker.

Margan Hunter Valley Wines has over 320 acres of its own vineyards and a state of the art winery, all located in the beautiful sub-region of Broke Fordwich in the Lower Hunter Valley.

WINERY

After acquiring the last of the old Lindeman’s and Saxonvale Vineyards, we are now producing wines from around 100 hectares of vines, most of which are 45 years old. These rejuvenated vineyards are old low yielding vines, growing in the rich red volcanic clay deposits of the Fordwich Sill.

We place enormous importance on making wines in a style that suits our vineyards where the grapes are grown. Our vineyards are hand pruned, hand worked and much prized. These great old vines give Margan intensely fl avoured wines with varietal and
regional distinction – the hallmark of our Margan wine style.

They are all Estate Grown – Estate Made and we are proudly 100% Hunter Valley. All our wines are single vineyard in origin. This is important to us as it allows our vineyards to express their unique fruit quality and terroir.

MARGAN TASTING ROOM
Our Tasting Room and Barrel Hall at our Broke based winery offers the full winery experience. Our knowledgeable staff can structure your tasting around both current releases as well as our older museum wines. Our wine trade visitors of course can
book in for a winery tour and specialised taste with one of our winery team.

MARGAN RESTAURANT
The stunning rammed earth Margan Restaurant provides the complete food and wine experience in the tranquil rural setting of Broke. Our modern Mediterranean menu is seasonally inspired and designed to showcase local produce as well as continues along the company’s line of estate grown-estate made, sourcing produce from the one acre ‘Margan Kitchen Garden’. Dine al fresco on the verandah and enjoy the expansive views of our homeblock vineyard and Brokenback Range or inside for air-conditioned comfort (or cosy fire side dining in winter).
