It’s a beautiful place, the Sonoma Valley. And Ram’s Gate Winery is located right at its entrance. A fusion of classic elegance with a youthful spirit, this stunning vineyard estate perfectly captures the essence of winemaking at its best. Our aim is simple: to create the finest possible wines that only our climate and our terroir can produce.

The architecture nods affectionately to its natural surroundings. Outside, is a modern interpretation of the weathered farmsteads of Carneros. Inside, is an eclectic mix of contemporary chic and urban cool. Relaxed yet refined, individual yet uncomplicated, Ram’s Gate has been designed to inspire great company.

WINERY

Our aim is simple: to create the finest possible wines that only our climate and our terroir can produce. That means all our wines are made from grapes either from our winery or carefully selected vineyards nearby.

Fruit is harvested and handled with care and intention starting with the selection in the vineyard to the sorting of clusters on our custom designed tables. The fruit travels down a long belt where it is inspected and quality checked, guaranteeing consistently high standards, berry by berry. Gravity and gentle pumps protect the liquid while it's on the move to its assigned fermentation vessle.

We prefer to keep our lot sizes small. Our smallest is just 1 ton, or 60 cases. Here at Ram’s Gate we like to get really specific about where are wines come from. For our Pinot, we can pin it down to the actual rows in the vineyard.

Jeff Gaffner tends to spend more time in the vineyard than most winemakers. He’s a grower at heart and likes to know the journey grapes take before they’re picked. It’s that level of detail that helps him make key winemaking decisions.

Red Label
Red label is our benchmark range of varietals specializing in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – the signature grapes of the Carneros and Sonoma regions. These are authentic Pinots and Chardonnays from our neck of the woods and will deliver a refreshing, whole-hearted sense of what Pinot and Chardonnay from Carneros really tastes like.

White Label
Our White Label wines are made with all the authenticity and intensity of the specific rows and vineyards where they originate. They are true representations of their terroirs and pay homage to the families and caretakers of each individual vineyard. Sourcing fruit from the best vineyards in the Carneros, Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Coast, and Russian River AVA's makes it possible to create some of the finest wine from this region.

Ram's Gate adventures are centered around wine tasting and there are many ways to spend time here. Join us for seated, guided tastings- with food pairings or without. Enjoy a flight of vineyard designate wines at the wine bar. Or take a picnic basket through the vineyard to the pond.
