GENERAL INFO  >  ROSARIO VALLEY WINE REGION (SAN ANTONIO VALLEY)

Rosario Valley is a subdivision of San Antonio Valley. San Antonio is a new discovery of Chile´s wine regions with exciting potential. San Antonio, which includes the now-famous Leyda zone, is one of the one of Chile's smallest viticultural areas. With vineyards as close as 4 km (2.5 mi) from the sea, it is also the most maritime region. For wine tourists, this wine region is yet to be developed. There isn´t a wine route but there are some interesting offers for those with an eye for the extraordinary.

The San Antonio Valley might just be a speck of a region between the Pacific Coast and the Maipo Valley, but it produces some of Chile's best Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Since 2002, this region is one of several recognized wine-producing areas with the official seal D.O. (Denominación de Origen).
